Special Interests: Laryngology, head & neck cancer, thyroid, skin lesion surgery
Alice completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at Cambridge and then Oxford Universities. After working in the UK, she moved to New Zealand in 2012 where she trained in Otolaryngology Head & Neck surgery, working in Christchurch, Dunedin and Auckland, and obtained her fellowship in 2019. Alice then undertook two further sub-specialist training years in Perth and Adelaide, gaining expertise in head & neck cancer and in laryngology (voice and swallowing).
Alice’s major areas of interest include head and neck cancer, including skin lesions of the head and neck, voice & swallowing disorders and thyroid surgery. She also has an interest in benign lumps of the head and neck and paediatric ENT, including grommet and tonsil procedures.
She is a member of the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgeons and of the Australian & New Zealand Head & Neck Cancer Society. Alice is the New Zealand representative on the Laryngology Society of Australasia committee.
Alice holds consultant positions in Dunedin and Southland Public Hospitals and is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Otago Medical School. She has an interest in education and is the current supervisor of ENT trainee surgeons in Dunedin.
